In our last Newsletter (Feb 2025), we outlined the proposed changes to the NCC. This was based on the draft which was released in 2024. It is possible that the final version may differ after consideration of industry comments, so we are keen to see the final version.
In previous years, the new version of the NCC would come into force on 1 May. We had been expecting that the final version of the new NCC would have been published by now to give everyone time to prepare for its implementation on 1 May 2025.
This year, that won’t be happening. The ABCB has advised that it has not yet provided its final advice to Building Ministers and “therefore, no decision has been made about the content, publication or commencement of any future edition.”
So, the NCC2025 edition is on hold for now.
In the meantime, a little amendment has been made to NCC2022. This amendment will come into force on 1 May 2025.
This amendment contains variations and additions for Western Australia, a variation for Tasmania regarding Volume Two Part H8, and a few minor corrections. The amendment can be found at this link: NCC 2022 Amendment 1
We have scoured the amendment, and there appear to be no changes to Section J.
