Improving your NABERS rating

It may come as a surprise to many that improving a building’s NABERS rating is not just about reducing energy use. It is about reducing emissions. Taking this into account changes thinking about which building upgrade to approve.

For example if you reduce electrical energy use by 20% you reduce emission by 20% also. However, if you look at options to substitute gas for electricity you could, in theory, use the same amount of energy and still reduce emissions by a factor of approximately 5.

Obviously all options involve capital upgrade and therefore have a cost. But these costs can be matched to the corresponding benefit and ranked so you can optimise the results for a given investment. There is a range of technology available which will leverage your efforts to improve your NABERS rating. Contact to Application Solutions to discuss further.
